The MHT CET exam for the PCB group consisted of multiple-choice questions (MCQs), held in online mode. In Pune, Shreya Yadav and Siddhi Bade also earned 100 percentiles, while Snehal Diwate topped the ST category with a 99.97 percentile. From Vidarbha, Bhakti Men from Akola emerged as the region's only 100-percentiler. Interestingly, many of these toppers were also preparing for NEET and used MHT CET as a backup plan, yet their focused preparation, consistent study habits, and clarity of concepts led to excellent outcomes.

Next, students can expect the MHT CET counselling process to begin shortly, where they’ll apply for admissions into various undergraduate programs. Details regarding registration dates, document verification, and choice filling will be made available soon on the official website.

Maharashtra Education Department Launches Official Portal for Class 11 Admissions

The Maharashtra Education Department has launched an online portal for Class 11 admissions to simplify and modernise the process. Registrations begin May 19, 2025, offering students a smoother and more transparent transition after SSC.

In a significant move to simplify and modernise the admission process, the Maharashtra Education Department has officially launched a dedicated online portal for Class 11 (First-Year Junior College) admissions. This digital platform is designed to make the transition from Class 10 to higher secondary education more seamless, transparent, and accessible for students across the state.

Starting May 19, 2025, students who have completed their SSC (Class 10) exams can begin registering through the portal. This marks a critical step in ensuring that the admission process is more organised, efficient, and student-friendly, reducing the traditional chaos and uncertainty that often surrounds junior college admissions.

Why This Matters

Every year, thousands of students in Maharashtra compete for seats in junior colleges across various streams — Science, Commerce, Arts, and vocational courses. Until recently, this process involved physical forms, multiple visits to colleges, and long queues. The new portal aims to eliminate these hurdles by bringing the entire process online, offering a single-window system where students can:

Fill out application forms

Choose their preferred colleges and streams

Track the status of their applications

Receive updates and notifications in real-time

Statewide Implementation for Greater Transparency

This initiative is part of the state's broader push toward digitisation and educational reform. By centralising the admission process, the government aims to promote fairness, reduce malpractices, and ensure that merit-based admissions are upheld across all districts — whether urban or rural.

A Student-Centric Approach

The launch of the portal not only brings convenience but also helps students and parents make more informed decisions. The system is expected to offer detailed information about colleges, seat availability, cut-off marks, and course options, all in one place.

As students gear up to take their next big academic step, this online portal stands as a major stride toward a more inclusive, transparent, and tech-driven education system in Maharashtra.

Every year, lakhs of students across Maharashtra appear for the SSC examinations, and the results are a pivotal moment in their academic journey. This early declaration is expected to greatly benefit students by giving them more time to explore and prepare for the next phase of their education, whether they choose to pursue junior college, polytechnic diplomas, or other academic streams.

Where and How to Check the Results

Once declared, students can access their results online through several official portals:

mahresult.nic.in

results.gov.in

DigiLocker

To view their individual scorecards, students will need to enter their roll number and date of birth — details that are provided on their exam admit card.

What This Means for Students and Parents

The early result declaration offers multiple advantages. It reduces the uncertainty and waiting period that often causes stress for students and their families. More importantly, it gives students a valuable head start on the application process for Class 11 admissions or other post-SSC options.

For parents, this early announcement allows more time to plan academic counselling, evaluate options across streams such as Science, Commerce, and Arts, and support their children in making informed decisions about their future.

Board’s Commitment to Efficiency and Transparency

This landmark move by MSBSHSE is part of a broader effort to digitize and modernize the examination and evaluation process. With the integration of online result dissemination platforms like DigiLocker, the board is also pushing toward a more eco-friendly and accessible system for students across urban and rural areas alike.

Defence exam preparation for NDA, CDS, AFCAT, MNS, and SSB Interviews often brings significant stress to students.

Students preparing for defence exams such as NDA,CDS, AFCAT, MNS and SSB Interview often undergo stress. Feeling stressed is a natural process and in a literal manner, it evokes a sense of motivation within us to persevere for our goals. Everyone experiences stress. But in a fast-paced competitive world, students are the most affected ones who often get overwhelmed with physical, emotional, and psychological strains. It is completely natural for defence aspirants to experience stress. It indicates that they are putting in extra effort to achieve something they want or trying to cope with a difficult situation. There can be various reasons for a student being stressed. Anticipating outcomes, lacking concentration, and overthinking are major factors contributing to stress.

Stress management strategies for students preparing for defence exams like NDA, CDS, MNS, AFCAT.

Research shows that overly stressed students are more likely to develop low immunity and weaken their cognitive and emotional functioning. In fact, prolonged stress can even lead to other mental illnesses like depression. In such cases, adhering to stress management strategies can help overcome stress and lead a balanced life. During my SSB Interview sessions at Centurion Defence Academy, I counsel my students and teach them to follow the below strategies to prevail over stress. These stress management tips may take time to develop but they are helpful in the long run.

1. ENGAGE IN CREATIVE HOBBIES AND INTEREST

2. SPIRITUAL GROWTH

3. GOAL CLARITY

4. DECLUTTERING THE MIND

5. TRUST THE PROCESS (REMEMBER THAT THE RESULT IS NOT IN YOUR HAND BUT KARMA IS IN YOUR HAND)

1. Engage in creative hobbies and interests:

When studying for a long time, you may feel overburdened. It's important to take breaks and engage in activities that you enjoy. You can take up some creative hobbies like painting, writing, playing a musical instrument, or even gardening to relax your mind and body. Here effective time management skills become imperative to make the best use of your leisure time. For a defence aspirant aiming to become an officer in the Indian Armed Forces, hobbies and interests are part of the questioning during the personal interview by the Services Selection Board (SSB). Hence, these activities are not only helpful in stress management but also in getting ready for the SSB interview.

2. Spiritual growth:

Engaging in practices that promote spiritual growth, such as meditation, yoga, or mindfulness, can be beneficial for managing stress. Spiritual growth is not merely confined to developing a closer relationship with God. It is a gradual process of developing self-identity, recognizing your purpose in life, connecting with your inner self and finding peace. When you practice spiritual growth, you become more conscious of learning who you are and how much potential you have. These practices shed light on what's most meaningful in your life. This way, you can develop goal clarity, focus less on the non-essential things and do away with stress.

3. Goal clarity:

It's essential to have clear goals and a sense of purpose when preparing for defence exams. Knowing what you're working towards can help you stay motivated and focused. Take the time to clarify your goals and know what you want and why you want it. Having a clear roadmap will help minimize uncertainty and ambiguity, reduce stress and increase your chances of success. Goal clarity also helps overcome constant questioning and doubt and boosts your confidence.

4. Decluttering the mind:

Decluttering the mind means getting rid of a disordered, unpleasant and complicated state. In simple words, it is a process of clearing your mind of extraneous and overwhelming thoughts, anticipations, distractions and worries. It's about filtering your thoughts to create a sense of calm and clarity in your mind. A cluttered mind can make it difficult to concentrate on goals and increase feelings of stress and anxiety. To declutter your mind, try practicing mindfulness techniques such as deep breathing to eliminate negative thoughts and worries. Following this process, you can approach your defence exam preparation with a clear and focused mind.

5. Trust the process:

It's important to trust in yourself and the process of preparation. Understand that while you can control your efforts and actions, you can't always control the outcome. Focus on doing your best in the present moment and trust that your hard work will pay off in the long run. Always keep in mind that setbacks and failures are a natural part of your exam preparation journey. Thus, you should have the adeptness to use them as opportunities for growth and learning. By giving up excessive worry about the outcome, concentrating your energy on the present moment, and trusting in the process, you can overcome stress and achieve success.

Gurmit Singh Arora, National President of the Indian Plumbing Association, highlights the essential skills and training for careers in Global Water Diplomacy and Development.

Today, water scarcity and water quality issues that exceed national boundaries demand the presence of well-trained diplomacy and development experts who are capable of dealing with issues of global water. With many countries all over the world facing the dilemma of sustainably managing their water systems, it is individuals with a combination of the right expertise and practical knowledge who will play leading roles in the sector of water resource management.

Gurmit Singh Arora, National President of the Indian Plumbing Association, discusses careers in Global Water Diplomacy and Development.

Here are the key points:

The fifth edition of ROM, The Physio Run, organised by the SRM College of Physiotherapy (SRMCPT) under the SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), concluded successfully at its Chennai campus in suburban Kattankulathur today after covering a distance of over 650 km.

The recurrent, non-stop relay spanning 664 kilometres across Tamil Nadu championed the message of “movement as medicine” and celebrated the power of collective endurance and healthy ageing. The relay commenced on October 7 at Arichal Munai Beach at India's southern tip of Dhanushkodi near Rameswaram in Ramanathapuram district, and traversed through SRM campuses in Madurai, Tiruchirappalli, and Baburayanpettai before reaching its destination at Kattankulathur today.

The event received support from the Collectorate of Ramanathapuram and was inaugurated by Captain Arjun Menon, Commanding Officer, INS Parundu, and Commandant Illavarasan, Indian Coast Guard, alongside Dr Nitin M. Nagarkar, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Medicine and Health Sciences), SRMIST. “This run is a tribute to SRMIST, not as work, but as something much more meaningful,” said Ms S. F. Mariyam Farzana, Associate Professor, SRMCPT, Organising Secretary, and alumna. Highlighting the broader vision behind the initiative, Prof. C. Muthamizhchelvan, Vice Chancellor, SRMIST, remarked: “Beyond a run, ROM reflects SRMIST’s commitment to perseverance, community spirit, and promoting healthy living. Through initiatives like the Physio Run, we encourage our students to embrace fitness as a way of life, nurture empathy through service, and grow into socially responsible healthcare professionals who lead by example.”

Tracing the journey of the initiative, Dr T. N. Suresh, Vice Principal, SRMCPT, added: “ROM began in 2021 as a student-led movement to promote preventive care through physical activity. Over the years, it has evolved into a multi-campus relay uniting students, alumni, and faculty for a shared cause. Participants underwent structured training and fitness assessments before the run.” Dr Nitin M. Nagarkar, Pro Vice-Chancellor (MHS), further emphasised the event’s community value: “Health is not just personal; it is a responsibility we carry for our communities. ROM demonstrates what we can achieve when commitment meets action.”

Throughout the relay, structured halts at each campus allowed communities to engage with the runners, amplifying the message of movement as a lifelong medicine. The symbolic handovers between runners represented the passing of energy, mentorship, and purpose connecting generations of students and alumni. Reflecting on the event’s impact, Prof. T. S. Veeragoudhaman, Dean, SRM College of Physiotherapy, said: “ROM is more than a un. It is a relay of knowledge, commitment, and health connecting generations, inspiring action, and reinforcing that movement is the foundation of life.”

The valedictory ceremony at SRMIST celebrated the runners, recognised the torchbearers, and reiterated that ROM, The Physio Run 2025, was not merely about endurance but about unity, service, and a shared commitment to well-being.
